Extreme Home Makeover - The Dedication

Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Week 5/6 Week 7 Week 8 Week 9  Nearing Completion The Dedication

Our dream is now a reality.  On Saturday, December 10, 2005, we dedicated the newly renovated home to the Ross family.  What started as a kind thought, soon blossomed into a worthy plan and finally culminated with basically a new home. Family, friends and Foundation volunteers gathered for fellowship and refreshments to celebrate this joyous occasion.

Tommy Dobbins, our Executive Director presided over the home dedication.  The Ross family and friends stood beside many volunteers as Mr. Dobbins thanked all of those who participated.  He described the project's humble beginnings and thanked the Ross family for allowing the Foundation to be part of such a fantastic journey.  Mr. Dobbins also expressed his thanks to all those who volunteered their weekends to make this project a reality.

Dawn Forbes, Executive Assistant for the Foundation, also acknowledged the many volunteers and businesses who contributed either time, supplies or labor.  Ms. Forbes also performed a wonderful Christmas melody for the attendees.  Finally, the keys were handed over to the family as they once again became happy home owners.  And to make the occasion even more enjoyable, Mr. Dobbins presented the family with a check for $500 to purchase a washer and dryer.

As we have said many times, we could have never done this without so many caring people who were willing to put in a lot of hard work to rebuild this home. Again, thank you so much to everyone who has helped with this project. Once again, the Foundation continues in its mission to make a positive change in people's lives.
